Teams Phone - Custom Voicemail Greeting
While not required by any Company Policy, it is recommended you set a custom voicemail greeting so callers know they are reaching the correct person.
With a few clicks through Teams desktop (or on the web) you will have a custom greeting.
Can I upload an audio file?
- At this time, unfortunately Teams does not provide this feature
What you'll need
- Headset connected/paired to your laptop
- Microsoft Teams (Desktop or Web)
Recommended
- Type up your Greeting in Word or Notepad
- Have it open on another screen or printed
- Reading from a script will reduce the number of re-do's you may need
Teams Desktop
- Open Teams (if it's not already)
- Click Calls from the App Bar (the left menu)

- In the Dialer section, click Don't forward
- Select More Settings

- You will be auto-directed to Calls settings
- In the right-menu look for Record a Greeting button

- When you're ready to record your Greeting, click it
- Follow the prompts
- Record your Greeting
- Follow any prompts to save/submit
- Click Leave when you're satisfied with your Greeting
Teams on the Web
- Open https://teams.microsoft.com/
- Click Sign-in (upper right)
- Sign-in with your Cuningham username & password
- Approve MFA, proceed to Step 2. in Teams Desktop (above)
