Multifactor Authentication (MFA): Cuningham
Setting up a Multifactor Authentication (MFA) device is pretty quick and easy, follow the steps in this article for any of the below scenarios.
- You're new to Cuningham and setting up MFA for the very first time
- You want to add a second device as an authentication device
- You've acquired a new device and MFA did not restore to the new one
- You've restored an existing device from backup and MFA did not restore
Prerequisites:
- Install the Microsoft Authenticator app (if you haven't already)
- On a new/restored device: Remove your Cuningham account from the app (if it appears)
Configuring your device for MFA
1. Open the MS Authenticator app, you should see a screen like the ones below
2. Tap Scan QR Code (if you see the below prompt, tap to OK/Allow camera access)
a. You may/will be required to give the App permissions to your camera, please Allow or OK
b. If you don't see a Scan QR Code > click Add account > choose Work or school
3. On your computer, click this link: MFA Setup
a. manually enter the MFA "starting page" into your browser's address bar (as shown below)
4. Click the + Add method option
5. In the Add a Method box > click the down-arrow then select Authenticator App
6. Click Add
7. Click Next, then Next again
8. Point your phone at the QR code displayed on your computer with your phone

9. Click Next on the computer (see above image)
10. Look for a prompt on your phone, click Approve/Allow when prompted
11. When you see a Notification approved prompt on your computer, click Next
