Install Software on your Computer: Company Portal
You can self-install many software titles using the Company Portal app on your laptop. This allows for installation of software without needing administrator rights.
Things to Note:
- Anything published in Company Portal is "fair game", go ahead and install (no special requests needed)
- Company Portal uses the Internet to download applications
- Larger applications can/will take some to download depending on your Internet connection speed
- Please review any messages in the Overview section before clicking install
- Important information on what to expect will be placed there.
- For example: reboot behavior, large download, etc.
How to access Company Portal:
The Company Portal can be accessed through your computer's Start Menu:
- Click/Tap the Windows logo on your computer (very lower left corner of the screen)
- Scroll through your apps list, look for Company Portal
- If you don't see the Company Portal please open a Help Desk ticket
From within the Company Portal
- Click into the "Search for apps" menu
- Type the name of the app you're looking for
- When it appears, click it and then click Install
Don't see what you're looking for?
It's possible the app just needs to be "unhidden", meaning you should request access HERE
- When your request is approved:
- We will add you to the distribution group for that app
- 30 minutes later you'll see it in Company Portal
- If the request is approved and the app is not published to Company Portal:
- Someone from Desktop Services will reach out to schedule a time to install the software
