Remove One at a Time
- Open a new email
- Click into the To or CC fields
- Start typing the name of a person or group
- When the name or group you want to remove comes up...
- Click the "X" to the right of the name you want removed
Remove All Entries
If you've been with the Organization for awhile you may find it beneficial to remove all entries and start over.
Note: This removes all entries, which includes external contacts
- Open Outlook
- Click File
- Click Options
- Click Mail
- Scroll to Send messages section
- Click the Empty Auto-Complete List button
More Information:
The Outlook AutoComplete list, also known as Outlook cache or cached addresses, is a handy feature that helps you quickly select recipients when composing emails.
The AutoComplete list is automatically generated by Outlook as you send email messages, it caches names and groups you send messages to. Unfortunately the AutoComplete list in Outlook is specific to Outlook and is not shared (aka: synced) with our corporate server (Exchange). This means that if a person's email address changes, or an email group is updated, those changes do not sync to the AutoComplete entries in Outlook on your laptop.
